August Brings Two New Exhibitions!

On July 13th we had an amazing reception featuring the work of Massachusetts artist Iva Liebert. It was wonderful to see so many of Iva’s friends from as far away as Hamburg, Germany. All admired her diverse work and enjoyed talking with her about her techniques. One young, budding artist was thrilled to spend some time with her. I overheard her say to her mother, “Wow, I got to talk to a real artist.”

As usual, Jayne Capps’ lovely handcrafted jewelry inspired by nature was a big hit. Fortunately, Jayne has just sent another selection that is now on display in the gallery.

August is going to be an exciting month with two big shows. Throughout July we’ve had visitors looking at the finely detailed etchings of Lynn Shaler now on display. Many lost contact with Lynn and her work when the Fanning Gallery in Wellfleet closed after representing her for twenty-years. I’m so excited to be the exclusive representative of Lynn’s work in New England.

Our first show “The French Affair” features over thirty Lynn Shaler etchings including her newest work Les Reflets du Soir. This new piece is based on a part of Isle Saint Louis called Le Quai d’Orleans and is stunning in its contrasts of rich blue buildings and the warm yellow reflections against the inky waters of the Seine.  Lynn will attend the opening event Saturday, August 10th from 5 to 7pm. OnAugust 11th at 2pm, Lynn will discuss the process she uses to achieve her amazing results and will accompany her talk with large-screen photographs from her studio in Paris.

Our second show “American Scenes” presents the fine art photography of Lou Clark and L. Robert Jasper both of whom will attend the opening event. The photographs represent years of work throughout the U.S. with an emphasis on our national parks. Our second wine and cheese reception opens this show on August 31st from 5 to 7pm.

I hope you can join us for both shows to see the work and meet the artists. Thanks to those who attended Iva Liebert’s show in July.

This year Jozy Fine Art will be open daily through December from 11am to 5pm (closed Tuesdays)…   Jozy

NOW SHOWING:

“Motif: Sensibilities”

I am very excited about Motif: Sensibilities because I believe it is an opportunity to see the work of some exciting new artists and to get a sense of what they feel while they’re working.

Iva Liebert’s newest work from the series “Out of the Bowl” is featured, and we will continue to show the festive little bears from her Bearscape series.

L. Robert Jasper, fine art photographer, is also represented. Jasper has participated in several classes conducted by renowned photographers, and we are showing many pieces from those workshops.

We continue to show photographic work of fine art photographer Lou Clark and handcrafted jewelry from Jayne Capps. Lynn Shaler’s work is also well represented.

About the Gallery

About the Gallery

I am a long time collector of art from both new artists and the well known. My vision for Jozy Fine Art is a gallery that will present work from artists long collected while providing a venue for new talent struggling for attention. I like themes, so in our first year I’ll use some of my favorites to feature oils and acrylics, aquatint etching, fine art photography, and handcrafted jewelry. The gallery space is open and comfortable – meant to welcome all visitors… Jozy
