Jozy Fine Art Newsletter

First Quarter 2014

Announcing our 2014 Season!

When T.S. Eliot said, “April is the cruellest month…” in The Waste Land, he definitely hadn’t been to Cape Cod in February. Despite too much snow to count the inches, it’s still Cape Cod; we still love it.

I want to begin this first-quarter newsletter by again thanking those whose help and support I received last year. I couldn’t have succeeded without it. You know who you are, and I look forward to seeing you again this season.

Jozy Fine Art will open weekends beginning May 10 preparing for our first Artist’s Reception of the 2014 season. I hope you can join us May 24, 5-7pm for Adventures in Photography: Africa: Wildlife of the Okavango Delta, Botswana featuring the work of fine art photographer L. Robert Jasper of Cape Cod. Jasper spent three weeks in Africa on a photography safari capturing images as spectacular as they are varied. Meet the artist, share some wine and cheese, and discuss his African experience at the reception. The gallery will open daily (except Tuesdays) from May 24 through the season. This exhibit will continue through June 18.

The gallery continuously shows images of Cape Cod and New England featuring oils, acrylics, mixed media, and fine art photography. Lynn Shaler, whose work is prized throughout the art world, has a dedicated room at the gallery where we always show thirty to forty of her fine limited edition etchings.  One of the most popular features at the gallery last season was the one-of-a-kind jewelry of Jayne Capps. Capps will have new work on display throughout the season.

Jozy Fine Art will host seven Artist’s Receptions this season. All are Saturdays, 5-7pm. These receptions give visitors a chance to meet many of the artists and other collectors. Last year’s receptions were festive events enjoyed by everyone who attended. The 2014 schedule is:

May 24: Adventures in Photography: Africa (details above)

June 14: Lou Clark Photography: A Retrospective

June 28: Expressions in Beads, Hand-wrought jewelry by Jayne Capps

July 19: Pieces of Me: Eclectic Art of Iva Liebert

August 9: The French Connection: Lynn Shaler

August 30: Cool Off with ICE: Photography of Alaska and Antarctica

October 11: Cape Artist Karen North Wells: Before the Fall

Please check our website www.jozyfineart.com for details about the work we’re showing at each exhibit…   Jozy

About the Gallery

About the Gallery

I am a long time collector of art from both new artists and the well known. My vision for Jozy Fine Art is a gallery that will present work from artists long collected while providing a venue for new talent struggling for attention. I like themes, so we’ll use some of my favorites to feature oils and acrylics, aquatint etching, fine art photography, and handcrafted jewelry. The gallery space is open and comfortable – meant to welcome all visitors… Jozy
