Jozy Fine Art Newsletter September/October 2014
Jozy’s 2nd Season comes to a Close…
Jozy Fine Art had a challenging but exciting second season. Our artist receptions were incredible – from the international debut of Lynn Shaler’s “Ile St. Louis” to the exciting fine art photography of Africa, Alaska, and Antarctica.
Iva Liebert introduced her latest work playing with the effects of light in still life oil paintings. Jayne Capps’ handcrafted jewelry remained a most popular purchase at the gallery.
Karen North Wells’ work was shown at the gallery for the first time. Saturday, October 11th, dawned dark and wet. The rains pounded the rotary construction at the gallery parking lot entrance, and I was seriously concerned that cars wouldn’t be able to get in. The heavy rain changed to a mist, and we had a wonderful crowd of sixty-five people. Many were visiting the gallery for the first time, and I’m looking forward to seeing them again next season.
…with exciting new work and artist receptions coming in 2015!
I accompanied L. Robert Jasper on a photo shoot in Portugal last month. The country was gorgeous, the people were charming, and the language was a challenge. We had a great time, and I wish we were already in season three so I could show the beautiful photographic images captured by the photographer. I’ll give a hint with a photo of my own taken in the iconic town of Sintra.
Jasper and fine art photographer Lou Clark embark this week on a European tour from Budapest to Amsterdam. Their images will be featured in another Jozy show in season three. Lucky me, I’m going on that trip as well!
I’m fortunate to hang the work of Karen North Wells next season – all work done after her recovery from fractured wrists. I know that the reception will be an exciting one judging from those who attended her show last week. I will continue to show Lynn Shaler’s fine aquatint etchings during the entire season. I’ll also have new oils and acrylics by Iva Liebert, and new hand crafted jewelry by Jayne Capps.
View our Gallery “By Appointment”
While we’re closing for the season, we have an extensive inventory of fine art available for showing by appointment during the winter months. Please call Jozy at 508-348-9726 to schedule a time to stop by for a special showing in our gallery. Our website features a few of the works available in the “Artists” section. We are Cape Cod’s exclusive gallery for Lynn Shaler’s Aquatint Etchings – always more than 25 limited edition prints on display!
The snow will be falling before Jozy’s next newsletter, but we still have many art events on the Cape. Enjoy the following:
November 28th – December 10th, 10am – 4pm
Saturday, November 29th, 5-7pm
About the Gallery
I am a long time collector of art from both new artists and the well known. My vision for Jozy Fine Art is a gallery that will present work from artists long collected while providing a venue for new talent struggling for attention. I like themes, so we’ll use some of my favorites to feature oils and acrylics, aquatint etching, fine art photography, and handcrafted jewelry. The gallery space is open and comfortable – meant to welcome all visitors… Jozy
