October 2013

Autumn on the Cape

September was our first month without an artist’s reception, and I have to admit that it was very lonely at the gallery. The weather has been fabulous sending the shoulder-season tourists and visitors to outside activities. Jozy Fine Art transitioned to fall hours, and we’re now open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

I am definitely looking forward to our two remaining shows in the 2013 season.  Many who attended the August 31st “American Scenes” reception told me that they’d like to see more New England photography. Your requests are answered in our October 12th “Homecoming” reception. The fine art photography of Lou Clark and L. Robert Jasper will decorate our walls in the main room of the gallery. Both photographers have shot extensively in New England for many years, and their work will show scenes you’ll recognize as well as hidden treasures. Jasper will be available from 5-7pm to answer questions and discuss photography. I hope you can join us for the wine and cheese reception. This work will be on display through Thanksgiving.

Our final show of the season is December 7thJayne Capps, whose handcrafted jewelry has been well received this year, will join us for “Put Art Under Your Tree” – our Holiday reception from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We’ll be serving punch and cookies from 11:00 – 5:00pm when we’ll switch to wine and cheese. The gallery will have both large and small works showing from Thanksgiving through December 8th. This is a perfect opportunity to buy gifts for those on your shopping list and yourself as well.

Jozy will be open Thursday through Sunday 11:00-4:00 until December 8th.  WE’LL BE CLOSED OCTOBER 17TH – OCTOBER 23RD REOPENING OCTOBER 24TH. Closing for the season December 8th.

Thanks to those who have visited the gallery this year.  I look forward to seeing you through the fall and into December…   Jozy

“Homecoming”

At Last! Autumn – the most beautiful season of the year in New England. Of course the summer beaches are great, winter skiing is delightful, and spring is a colorful harbinger of the bright sunshine to follow. The fine art photography of L. Robert Jasper and Lou Clark captures the glory of all our spectacular seasons. Jasper will be available during the wine and cheese reception to answer questions and discuss photography on October 12th from 5-7pm. The show will run until our Holiday Show beginning Thanksgiving weekend.

Jozy Fine Art always features the aquatint etchings of Lynn Shaler. In keeping with the season we’ll show her “Autumn in Brooklyn” along with twenty-five additional matted and framed works. Shaler’s work is collected worldwide, and I was so pleased to present the American debut of her etching – “Les Reflets du Soir” in August. This work is available now.

The gallery will have one-of-a-kind handcrafted jewelry by Jayne Capps of Oklahoma. We have many new pieces, and Capps will be with us all day December 7th to talk about her work.

Also showing is the work of Iva Liebert, a Massachusetts artist with collectors throughout New England and Europe. Her metaphorical “Out of the Bowl” series will be featured along with beautiful oils and collages.

Join us October 12th to meet L. Robert Jasper and help us celebrate Columbus Day weekend.

Enjoy beautiful Cape Cod, the Art and other events…

About the Gallery

About the Gallery

I am a long time collector of art from both new artists and the well known. My vision for Jozy Fine Art is a gallery that will present work from artists long collected while providing a venue for new talent struggling for attention. I like themes, so in our first year I’ll use some of my favorites to feature oils and acrylics, aquatint etching, fine art photography, and handcrafted jewelry. The gallery space is open and comfortable – meant to welcome all visitors… Jozy
